The Earth Prize 2027: Two Deadlines, One Evidence Plan
The Earth Prize is free and open worldwide to secondary students aged 13-19. Separate registration from submission, understand the seven Blueprint sections, and prepare evidence before polishing a pitch.

You do not need a polished product to start The Earth Prize. You do need to separate registration from the final submission and show student‑created work, not just a persuasive pitch.
Check the team before the idea
The competition is free and open worldwide, including the U.S. and Canada. Participants must be 13-19 during the competition and in secondary education or an equivalent program, not tertiary education. Enter alone or with up to five students; cross‑school teams are allowed.
Minors need parent or guardian consent. An adult Educator is encouraged, not required: adults advise, while students create the main content and a student Team Lead submits. Official rules
Registering does not complete your project submission. Put both deadlines on the calendar.
Keep two deadlines separate
Register by January 10, 2027. The official page gives a date but no exact cutoff time; do not invent a midnight or timezone. Competition timeline
Submit the Blueprint by January 31, 2027, at 12:00 PM CET. That is noon in Central Europe, or 11:00 UTC, not midnight. Submission guidelines
Build an evidence trail, not just a deck
The seven Blueprint sections are The Problem, Dig Deeper, Your Idea, Create, Validate Your Solution, Implementation & Funding, and The Pitch. Credit outside research with footnotes. Official Blueprint
Create requires a photo or video of something made or developed. A sketch, mockup or documented failed test can count; a finished product is not required. Validation calls for real‑user feedback or an explained barrier and a plan to obtain feedback, not a fixed interview quota.
Leave the pitch until you have something to explain
The video is 60-90 seconds, unscripted, in one continuous take. Explain the problem, what you did and what comes next. Pitch requirements
The official materials mention an integrated AI tool that supports participants, but they do not define its permitted scope. In the official Rules, FAQ, Submission Guidelines, and Blueprint checked on November 2-3, 2026, we found no general rule governing external generative‑AI use. Keep the work original and student‑created, and ask the organizer before using any external AI tool.
HAEA preparation advice: keep a dated evidence log, record what changed after a test, and give one teammate responsibility for submission checks. These are process suggestions, not extra contest rules.
